Workshops and Classes

Reluctant writers are often struggling with the writing process as a whole. It involves planning, organizing, drafting, revising and editing. When taught in a vacuum, these imperative skills can feel tedious and sometimes redundant. Reading and writing are inherently social activities, and many students benefit from discussing, collaboratively writing, and supporting each other. EmPath offers a range of small-group courses in which students can become a collective. These classes are a great value considering you are paying under ¼ of a highly qualified specialists hourly fee, but getting a wealth of time and resources for your student.

NEW: The College Essay “Package” :

Discounted 1-1 tutoring, with the purpose of producing the common app’s personal statement

College Essay Packages:

The school year is about to begin, and I am offering a short-term promotion for 1-1 college essay support. This is my niche, I love it, and find it incredibly gratifying to be a fly on the wall of a students’ college journey. Personal essays are a vulnerable exchange and require a safe and supportive environment. As an AET certified educational therapist, I am experienced in fostering productive and empowering relationships with students, particularly those who have exceptionalities. For more on my approach, check out my website and testimonials here: www.empathlearning.com

The packages I am offering will be a hybrid of online sessions over zoom and google drive, and in-person sessions, in order to be as cost-effective as possible. The number of sessions and the price of each package will be determined based on a consultation with the parent/guardian and a student writing sample. The average program will consist of 4-6 sessions, starting at $360.00.

A sliding scale is available and courses can be adjusted based on the financial needs of the family. I am offering pro-bono packages to students who meet the financial criterion, so please feel free to connect me with families who have limited resources.

Each program is designed for the specific child based on their needs as a writer, but can include:

    • Choosing the right personal essay question to tell your story

    •  Reviewing essays which earned admission to competitive universities

    •  Brainstorming based on lived experiences

    •  Structuring of your personal essay as per your audience’s lens
